In Bengal, tea is never just tea. It is a rhythm of the day, a quiet pause between conversations, a moment shared between strangers who quickly become companions over a warm clay cup.
This painting reflects that everyday ritual. The layered textures echo the raw, tactile quality of the clay cup, while the brushwork attempts to capture the warmth and intimacy that surrounds the act of drinking tea. It is a small but powerful cultural moment—simple, humble, yet emotionally rich.
Through this work, I wanted to preserve not just the object, but the feeling around it: the warmth of holding the cup, the conversations that unfold around it, and the comfort of returning to this ritual again and again throughout the day.
The painting celebrates how ordinary moments quietly become memory, and how culture often lives most vividly in the smallest daily habits.
